Summer Programme with Strengthening Minds
We have a huge summer programme running in association with Strengthening Minds. There are opportunities for 5-11 year olds to take part in free multi sports session and coffee mornings for parents whilst they play. Finally we will be training up and putting people who want to help with delivery of the sessions through a coaching programme throughout the summer. This will give people aged 16+ the opportunity to gain experience as well as qualifications meaning you will be qualified to be employed in a sports coaching job. All for free throughout three sites in Kent. This is a great opportunity for families to get involved in sport in their local community.
Funded by Kent Sports and in collaboration with Active Community Solutions, our 5-week summer programme provides sessions for:
- 16+ individuals: complete sports coaching qualifications – with the potential to move on to paid employment with Active Community Solutions. A whole range of qualifications on offer, lots of support and work experience available.
- 5-11 year olds: attend multi-sports sessions, including a snack break, open to all abilities, fun-based sports activities.
- Parent/Carer sessions: delivering at the same time as the multi-sports sessions, local professionals invited to share info and advice. A relaxed ‘coffee and cake’ style environment, a chance for parents/carers to socialise, knowing their children are attending the sports sessions.
The programme is being delivered from the Gravesend, Sittingbourne and Ashford strengthening minds community hubs and will start on Monday 26th July.
All sessions do have a limit to how many people can attend, So please register through this form https://www.cognitoforms.com/TSCKENTLTD/StrengtheningMindsSummerProgramme
