The Scholars at both of our St Georges and Ursuline programmes are progressing well as we return to training after the christmas break. It is also pleasing to see former scholars now making a name for themselves in local semi-professional football, with Billy Munday becoming a regular starter in the Ramsgate First team and further afield Ryan Coleman continues to impress stateside in his USA Scholarship.
We have always tried to improve the coaching that is offered to the scholars and increase the standard of the sessions they receive, as the coaching they receive is a huge factor in taking them to the next level. This season we have been filming some of our games and training sessions on drones, which is helping with tactical analysis and video review sessions of our games/training sessions. After games the videos are analysed and edited, highlights and clips are sent directly to the scholars to give them reviews and coaching points to help their progress.
Our most recent advancement is the introduction of GPS technology for our players to help develop their fitness and game awareness. This is a huge step forward in preparing players for the physical demands of the game as they begin their adult football journey. It allows us to measure the sprints and sprint speed/distance, total ground covered as well as their heat maps during games.
WE HAVE OUR SCHOLARSHIP TRIALS FOR NEXT YEAR COMING UP IN FEBRUARY HALF TERM!!
